Andara Bledin is 20, and was first acquainted with the Vrijbuit Shipping Company while looking for her mother's relatives. Not having other options available at the time and running low in funds, she agreed to work for, then captain, Seamus MacLeod as a scribe. While keeping his log for him, she has come to loathe him, and is seeking a position with the shipping company itself.

While she can read and write, and knows her numbers, her hobbies include stitching and gambling. She is fairly lucky, and has won much more than she has lost. She is fond of animals, and often befriends small pets and their owners.

She is very honest, and will refuse to answer rather than tell a lie. She considers herself to be honorable, as well, and this keeps her in
MacLeod's employ, much to her distaste. As a means of severing her relationship with him, she has agreed to teach him his letters. She hopes that he proves to be an able learner.
